About Our Foundation
When the late Richard North, a quiet and thoughtful man from Kihei passed away in 1999, he was so moved by the care he received at Maui Memorial Center that he bequeathed his entire estate worth $1.2 million to benefit the hospital and its staff. This generous gift planted the seed for the creation of the Maui Memorial Medical Center Foundation (MMMCF).
Today, this active 501(c)(3) organization continues to make a difference. Thanks to an active Foundation Board, and generous donors like Mr. North and those that followed, MMMCF has raised millions of dollars to bring new services, improve the quality of healthcare for our residents and visitors and state-of-the-art technology to Maui Memorial Medical Center.
